Unconscious bias training doesn’t work!! It’s time for the appliance of science!
We had a fabulous web event last month where our guest speaker Riham Satti, CEO of MeVitae. Riham brought her unique perspective to the subject of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, incorporating Science and Technology to this well-trodden subject. Riham was cited by Forbes as a female tech entrepreneur to watch, she has a masters degree from Oxford in Clinical Neuroscience and is a recognised speaker in the field of Tech and Diversity & Inclusion, so we were delighted to host her for our second ‘In conversation’ event.
We gained some enlightening insight and practical ideas as we discussed the appliance of science to D&I
- It can take less than a second to form a judgement on someone’s competency and trustworthiness.
- A study also showed an observer could also predict the outcome of job interviews within 15 seconds from the early encounters.
- We’re tackling 140 different types of bias in a typical hiring process, so do you know what these are and where you encounter them the most?
Unconscious bias training can raise awareness, but data, science & technology can help organisations take real strides forward.
If you’d like to watch a recording of the webinar or get a copy of the presentation you can do so at the bottom of this page!
Don’t just take my word for it though – here are some comments from our discerning audience!
“It was fantastic – truly one of the best on D&I that I’ve been to of late” (Jennifer Candee, Global Head of Talent Acquisition & Employer Brand at the FMCG blue chip Mondelez)
“Really excellent presentation – distilling complex matters. Fascinating insights into the appliance of science. Great interaction between the panellists and plenty of opportunity for people to participate and contribute.”
“Quality speaker – so good to have access to someone who really knows their stuff. Too many webinars seem to have speakers who talk a good job rather than expert in their field.”
